Two Tracks in Interlochen, Michigan

At the south end of Green Lake this two track winds through a forest of red oak and white pine trees. The area is thickly blanketed with ferns. I used an Olympus Pen EP-2 to take the shot.

This father walked the beach on Grand Traverse Bay one summer evening in Traverse City, Michigan. I shot the photo using an Olympus Pen EP-2.

White Pines at Interlochen State Park

This photo was taken in Interlochen State Park, near Traverse City, Michigan. The park resides between Green Lake and Duck Lake. It was the first State Park in Michigan and has some of the oldest White Pines in the State. I used an Olympus Pen EP-2 for the shot and Content Aware in Adobe Photoshop to remove the fire ring for the campsite where it was taken.

This is a window on Union Street near State Street in Traverse City, Michigan. It was taken late in March using an Olympus Pen EP-2.

Dockside on the Saint Mary's River

The Saint Mary's River flows from Lake Superior to Lake Huron separating Michigan from Canada. This shot was taken in the spring of the year shortly after the last ice had melted in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. I used an Olympus Pen EP-2 for the shot.

Shed and Yellow Safflowers

Here's the same field of yellow safflowers shown in the post I made yesterday. The weather worn shed in this picture adds some perspective. It's approximately twelve feet (four meters) tall to the peak of the roof. The sun was a little higher in the sky when I took this picture. Again, I used my Olympus Pen E-P2.

Clear Quartz Crystal

Here is a clear quartz crystal from my collection of rocks and minerals. I didn't find this semi-precious gem, but I do like to go rock collecting. This photo was taken with my Olympus Pen, an E-P2.

A Boat in Northport Marina

This boat is moored in the Northport Marina during mid-August. Northport is on M-22 in Leelanau County, Michigan. That's Lake Michigan in the background and in the far distance, the Michigan shoreline where M-31 follows it north to Charlevoix and Petoskey. I used my Sony Alpha 57 to take the picture.

Sleeping Bear Dunes

Yet another view from a lookout in the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore. This view is to the south along the Lake Michigan shoreline near 7:00 PM Eastern Daylight Time. It was taken with my Sony Alpha 57. You can see there was a substantial amount of haze in the air, water evaporation which is typical in the area this time of year.

This is the same barn as in the posting I made yesterday, August 19th. Here you can see Lake Michigan in the background. I took the photo from a scenic overlook in the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Park, once again with my Sony Alpha 57.

This large barn is along M-22 in Leelanau County, Michigan within the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore. It was taken in mid-afternoon in August of 2012 with my Sony Alpha 57. Watch for the posting tomorrow, August 20th for a completely different perspective on the same barn.
